The ocean on Solaris is similar to the human brain: why it produces certain memories and pangs of conscience remains unknown. To what extent are memories distorted over time? Scientist Kris Kelvin embarks on a research expedition on Solaris. He is tasked with investigating some strange occurrences and discovering why all attempts to contact Solaris have so far failed. Warned by several sources about mysterious "visitors," he finally encounters his long-dead wife, Hari. But is everything as it seems? Is Hari real? Or is she merely a projection of Kris Kelvin's conscience?
